Singapore Institute of Technology, known as SIT, presents itself as the national university built around industry.

Its teaching rests on applied learning: students put knowledge to work in professional settings and spend part of their degree inside companies through the Integrated Work Study Programme, which the institute says draws on more than 1,000 industry partners. Study options are organised into five clusters covering Infocomm Technology, Engineering, Health and Social Sciences, Business, Communication and Design, and Food, Chemical and Biotechnology.

Learners can follow undergraduate or postgraduate routes, and a separate lifelong learning stream serves people who want to build new skills later in their careers. A recently established CET school aims to guide individuals from discovering their skills towards career progression, and to help employers diagnose workforce needs and build capability.

SIT runs a Punggol Campus, whose official opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

The institute also works with companies on research, including a planned quantum-safe cybersecurity centre developed with IBM and scheduled to open no later than the close of 2026. Prospective students can reach admissions guidance, scholarships and financial aid through the admissions hub on the website, which currently advertises applications for academic year 2026.
