Overview
Founded 1930 as Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of Leather Industry.
Renamed Kyiv Institute of Leather and Footwear Industry 1935, it was first reorganised as State Academy of Light Industry Academy of Ukraine and in 1999 as the State University of Technologies and Design. Acquired present status and title in 2001.
The University is one of the first Ukrainian institutions of higher education, which underwent independent external audits conducted by the National STANDARD Certification Center and QMSCERT International Certification Center in 2017. As the result, it received certificates of conformity of the quality management system of educational activities with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2015.
The highest international achievement is the opening of Kyiv Institute at Qilu University of Technology in China
