Overview
Lawrence Technological University is a private university in Michigan whose teaching is organized around five colleges: Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Business and Information Technology, Engineering, and Health Sciences.
The university also builds programs around fast-changing fields, including data and intelligent systems, advanced manufacturing, and health sciences and leadership, offered as degrees and certificates for working professionals as well as new students. Undergraduate applicants are reviewed on their academic record, with a recalculated, weighted grade point average covering English, languages, mathematics, social sciences and natural sciences.
Standardized tests are optional and are used for course placement and possible scholarship upgrades rather than for the admission decision. Admission is rolling, so qualified applicants hear back in the order they apply.
Graduate applicants are reviewed jointly by admissions staff and the program director, and the GRE is not required.
International applicants use the same application as domestic students and show English proficiency through accepted tests such as the TOEFL iBT, IELTS, Duolingo English Test or PTE Academic, or through qualifying prior study in English. Students can begin in fall, spring or summer.
Beyond the classroom, students can join more than 100 organizations, choose among four housing units and take part in a varsity athletics program. The university also carries on the Specs Howard School of Media Arts legacy through certificate and degree programs in media.
