Overview
Penn State World Campus is the online campus of Pennsylvania State University, which draws on more than 125 years of distance education experience.
It launched in 1998 so that learners could complete a Penn State degree entirely online, and it now offers more than 200 programs ranging from associate and bachelor's degrees to master's degrees, doctorates and certificates. Its stated mission is to open the Penn State educational experience to anyone, at any time, with an emphasis on convenience, flexibility and quality in accredited degrees and certificates.
The student body is largely made up of working adults, including professionals, people in the military and learners balancing study with family commitments. Courses are delivered online, and the campus is overseen by the Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education.
Students and alumni live in every region of the world, and international applicants follow additional steps for English proficiency and academic records.
Application deadlines and start dates depend on the program and the intake semester, and requirements differ between undergraduate and graduate study. Tuition is charged per semester of enrollment and varies by credit load and, for graduate study, by program.
Financial support includes federal aid through the FAFSA for eligible degree-seeking students, donor-funded scholarships, and military education benefits.
