🇳🇬 Nigeria: JAMB & Multi-Uni Aggregate Simulator

1. The 50-20-30 Blend (UNN, ABU, UNIABUJA)

• JAMB component: UTME / 400 × 50 (maxes at 50).
• O-Level component: Top 5 WAEC grades summed (A1=10 down to C6=5) ÷ 50 × 20 (maxes at 20).
• Post-UTME component: Screening / 100 × 30 (maxes at 30).
• Aggregate: Sum / 100. JAMB regulations cap Post-UTME at 30%.
• Two-sitting penalty: these schools accept two sittings but apply a 20% haircut to the O-Level component only (up to a 4-point aggregate loss); JAMB and Post-UTME are unaffected.

2. The 50-50 Split (UNILAG, UI, OAU)

Premier southern universities drop the O-Level weighting and split JAMB and Post-UTME evenly: aggregate = (JAMB / 8) + (Post-UTME / 2). WAEC remains a gate-pass requirement — five credits including English and Mathematics — but credits beyond the floor add no marks.

3. The Triple-Gate Lock

Three gates must clear simultaneously: (a) UTME ≥ 150 national floor; (b) five O-Level credits at C6 or better in one or two sittings depending on policy; (c) Post-UTME taken on the assigned date. Failing any gate voids the aggregate even if mathematically high — this calculator marks the outcome as Ineligible rather than computing an inflated score.

4. Cut-Off Realism

JAMB sets the national floor at 150 / 400 for universities. Faculty-level cut-offs at UNILAG, UI, OAU and UNN routinely demand UTME ≥ 200 with Post-UTME ≥ 60. Competitive faculties (Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Engineering) typically need aggregates in the 70–80 band. The progress bar benchmarks against an aggregate of 60, the de-facto competitive threshold.
