How It Works

1. Per-Module Gating (Not Averages)

The TCF (operated by France Éducation International) reports each activity on a 0–699 scale. The TEF (CCI Paris Île-de-France) reports on a 0–699 scale. For Maghreb candidates filing through the mandatory Études en France platform, the official CEFR placement is bounded by the lowest module, not the arithmetic mean — a candidate with B2 in four skills and A2 in writing is treated as A2 for admissions.

This calculator therefore demands every module score and computes the Math.min() CEFR band before comparing it against the tier floor.

2. CEFR Bands & Tier Floors

TCF bands: A1 100-199, A2 200-299, B1 300-399, B2 400-499, C1 500-599, C2 600-699.

TEF bands (0–699, since end-2023): A1 100-199, A2 200-299, B1 300-399, B2 400-499, C1 500-599, C2 600-699.

  • Licence DAP / L2-L3: B2 floor — every module ≥ B2.
  • Master: B2 floor; selective humanities and law programs filter at C1.
  • Doctorat: C1 floor for francophone disciplines.
