🇲🇦 Morocco: Seuils d'accès (Threshold) Gatekeeper

Since 2016, the Moroccan Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur standardized the pre-selection formula used by most public post-baccalauréat establishments to a clean composite of the two official Baccalauréat exam sessions. Continuous assessment (contrôle continu) is no longer factored into the pre-selection average.

The Official 75/25 Formula

• NR — Note Régionale: Overall average from the regional examination (1ʳᵉ année du cycle Bac), on a 20-point scale.
• NN — Note Nationale: Overall average from the national examination (2ᵉ année du cycle Bac), on a 20-point scale.

This composite average is then ranked against the official seuil d'accès published by each establishment. Candidates above the seuil are summoned to the written concours or interview; those below are filtered out at the file-screening (pré-sélection) stage.

The Seuil Is Dynamic, Not Fixed

There are no permanently fixed cutoffs in Morocco. Each seuil is recomputed annually as a function of:

• Number of available seats (places offertes) at each campus.
• Total number of candidates per Bac filière.
• Multiplier coefficient (typically 8× to 20× the seat count) used to set the pre-selection roster size.
• Candidate ranking by Bac series, descending by their 75/25 composite.

The presets in this calculator reflect historical observed ranges for major schools, used as a planning benchmark — not a guaranteed admission threshold for the current year.

Worked Example

If NR = 16.00 and NN = 15.20, the pre-selection average becomes:

A 15.40 composite generally clears CPGE and ENSA pre-selection in most Bac PC/SVT regions, while remaining below the historical seuil for Medicine.
