Diploma in Health Science (Midwifery) – Politeknik Brunei

The Diploma in Health Science (Midwifery) at Politeknik Brunei is a 2.5-year programme run by the School of Health Sciences, built to produce competent, registered midwives who can work with a woman-centred approach across both hospital and community settings. The course frames sensitivity and safety as core clinical skills in their own right, not just supporting qualities around the technical content. Graduation depends on accumulating 75 credit values, completing continuous clinical competency assessments and a clinical experience record book, and maintaining satisfactory attendance throughout, so clinical capability is tracked continuously rather than tested only at the end. On completion, graduates can register with the Brunei Nursing Board and work in midwifery or obstetric units locally or internationally, with eligibility to progress into bachelor's-level midwifery or nursing studies, either locally or abroad, once the diploma is finished.
