Program details

Overview

Technologie du génie électrique — Électronique programmable is a technical DEC program combining electronics, embedded programming and robotics. According to the program page, graduates are trained to design, program, configure, repair and maintain electronic products and control systems built from printed circuits and programmable electronic components, for work in production, technical support, and research and development in electronics-focused companies. Program objectives listed on the page include developing and programming code for programmable electronic circuits such as robotic manipulators, numerically controlled engraving machines and onboard computers; writing control software for systems like cruise control, electronic fuel injection, industrial process control and home-automation systems; producing computer-aided electronic drawings and basic printed-circuit-board (PCB) designs; building and tuning prototype electronically controlled systems, such as industrial process controllers, alarm systems and medical equipment; and installing, maintaining and modifying computerized systems used for data handling and automation. The page describes candidates as comfortable with logical problem-solving, curious about electronic components, and able to work carefully under pressure, individually and in teams. Admission requires the general college conditions plus a Secondary 4 Mathematics prerequisite (TS, SN, 436, or Secondary 5 CST/526), with Secondary 5 Mathematics (TS or SN, 536) noted as helpful though not required. There is no admission quota.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: See the College's general admission conditions, plus this program's own prerequisite: Mathematics - TS or SN from 4th secondary, or Mathematics 436, or CST from 5th secondary, or Mathematics 526. Having passed 5th-secondary TS/SN Mathematics (or Mathematics 536) is not required but can make the program easier. Not quota-limited ("aucun contingentement"); apply through SRAM at admission.sram.qc.ca.

Application Details

Start Date: September
Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) at admission.sram.qc.ca: the college's own admission page states an equal-consideration date of 1 March for Fall entry and 1 November for Winter entry, which for the 2027 cycle fall on 1 March 2027 (Fall) and 1 November 2026 (Winter), with Winter 2027 applications opening 15 September 2026. Collège Lionel-Groulx does not publish a dedicated international-admissions page of its own; international applicants would follow SRAM's system-wide window, published as 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027 for Fall 2027 entry, though the college has not confirmed this itself. Admission proceeds round by round on a rolling basis after each equal-consideration date until seats are filled. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
