Bachelor of Education (After Degree)

The Bachelor of Education (After Degree) is a two-year professional programme at Concordia University of Edmonton for students who already hold an undergraduate degree and want to qualify as elementary educators. It combines theoretical coursework in lesson planning, classroom management and subject-specific pedagogy with a total of 13 weeks of supervised classroom experience, including a four-week practicum in the first year and a nine-week fall practicum in the second year. The programme is recognised by the Alberta Teachers' Association and is run in small cohorts. Graduates are qualified to teach at the elementary level in Alberta. International students completing the mandatory field placements require a co-op work permit and must meet Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada eligibility rules.
