Admission Requirements: Applications are submitted online at MacEwan.ca/Apply with a non-refundable application fee of CAD $110 (2026/27); students accepting an offer pay an admission confirmation deposit of $400 (domestic) or $1,000 (international, non-refundable) that is applied toward tuition. Fall applications open October 1 with program-specific deadlines of March 30 or June 30; Winter applications open February 1 with deadlines of September 30 or November 30; Spring/Summer applications open May 1. Unless an earlier closing date is indicated, international applicants must apply by May 1 for Fall, October 1 for Winter and January 30 for Spring/Summer intakes. All undergraduate applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency regardless of citizenship; if your primary language is English you meet the requirement. Accepted 2026/27 evidence includes IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with 5.5 in each band; TOEFL iBT 86 total with 21 per section for tests taken before January 21, 2026, or 4.5 overall and per section on the new scale from January 21, 2026; Duolingo English Test 115; CAEL 70 overall with 60 per band; PTE Academic 59 overall with 56 per band; Cambridge Advanced/Proficiency 180 overall with 165 per skill; EIKEN Grade 1; Alberta English Language Arts 30-1 with a minimum final blended grade of 75%; IB English A1/A2 grade 5 or English B grade 6; AP English grade 4; GCE/GCSE English at grade B; six transferable university-level English credits at B+; three or more years of full-time education in English; or a degree from a recognized English-medium institution. Test scores older than two years are not accepted, and nursing and several other programs set their own English proficiency criteria.
