Contribute to business and individual insurance planning and security while preparing to earn important industry credentials. Program Highlights Over 90% of our graduates obtain an insurance career position once they graduate.Mohawk has over 40years experience in educating insurance professionals. The insurance industry provides awards and scholarships in the amount of $10,000 annually.Very close links with the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry.Upon completion of a common first semester, you may choose to transfer into second semester of one of the following programs:Business - Accounting (non co-op 316 or co-op 356)Business Administration (632)Business Administration - Accounting (364)Business Administration - Human Resources (363)Business Administration - Marketing (non co-op 362 or co-op 366)Business - Financial Services (303)Business - General (320)Business - Marketing (319)Note: An additional requirement based on overall grades may be required to proceed into some programs.What you'll learnPrepare for the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario License.Complete, on an accelerated basis, eight out of ten credits required for the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. Program Length2 academic years (periods of 8 months), plus optional co-opFast Track allows students to complete a two-year Diploma program (non co-op) in 16 months. Students will start in January and be in school for four continuous semesters: Winter, Spring/Summer, Fall and Winter. Students will not be off during the summer.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Mohawk's program page (shared with the standard Insurance diploma) requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (Mohawk Academic Upgrading or a GED also qualify), including Grade 11 Mathematics at the C, M or U level and Grade 12 English at the C or U level, or their equivalents. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency through one of: TOEFL 550 (80 internet-based), IELTS Academic overall 6.0 with no band below 5.5, Duolingo 105-110 with no band below 100, or completion of Mohawk's GAS-English for Academic Purposes (478) program. The page states no separate admission requirement for the co-op stream beyond these; mature-applicant pathways remain available.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through Ontario Colleges: for a September start Mohawk's equal-consideration date is 1 February (1 February 2027 for the next fall intake), and for a January start it is 1 June; after either date, files are considered first-come, first-served while seats remain, with permanent residents of Ontario prioritized, then other Canadian residents, then international applicants. International applicants apply via OCAS's International Application Service on a per-intake deadline rather than one annual date: for January 2027 entry, applications opened February 2026 and the submission deadline is 1 November 2026; Mohawk had not yet published a deadline for the September 2027 intake as of this check. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
