Overview
This combined MSc/Diploma in Craniofacial Science and Pediatric Dentistry at UBC trains dentists holding a DMD for specialist practice with children, splitting clinical training between the Point Grey campus and BC Children's Hospital over a normal three-year timeline. The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies sets a minimum overall average in the B+ range (76% at UBC), though the program is competitive and meeting the minimum does not guarantee a seat. Applicants from a university outside Canada where English is not the language of instruction must submit an English test within 24 months of applying: this program asks for IELTS Academic 7.0 overall, TOEFL iBT 5.0 overall on the test's 2026 six-point scale, or Duolingo English Test 130 overall, above the Faculty's general minimums. The GRE is not required. The application otherwise asks for transcripts from every post-secondary institution attended, three letters of reference, and a statement of interest; applicants may name a faculty supervisor of interest but no prior commitment from one is required. Permanent Residents of Canada must submit a photocopy of both sides of their PR card.
