Program details

Overview

Dentistry (with Specialty Training) is a Master of Science program offered through the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, combining an MSc with training in one of ten nationally recognized dental specialties, including Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Prosthodontics. It is intended for applicants who already hold a degree in dentistry and are pursuing both research training and advanced clinical education in a chosen specialty. Program length varies by specialty, ranging from about two years for Dental Public Health to three years for most clinical specialties and up to four years for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and related fields. The program is delivered in person on the St. George campus, with specialty-specific application deadlines and start terms. It suits dentists seeking combined advanced clinical specialty training and graduate research experience rather than research training alone.
