Overview

The Faculty of Forestry's micro-certificate builds professionals' basic knowledge of spotting and diagnosing forest health issues and of how to mitigate their impact, focusing on issues brought on by biotic agents, among them insects and pathogens. By the end, participants are expected to be able to recognise the most significant biotic agents behind outbreaks in BC and to prescribe appropriate mitigation measures.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: The micro-certificate will be of interest to professionals in the private, public, or non-profit sectors whose job entails working on sustainable forest management. The program is also open to those considering new careers in forest management and seeking to develop core competencies in this field.
