Program details
Overview
The micro-credential works toward putting together an educational, applied-research model aimed at advancing the circular economy within Canada and beyond. Learners start with the basics of the circular economy, covering business models and the value propositions associated with them, along with tools and methods for investigating and designing circularisation strategies applied to their own workplace. Each learner brings a case study from their own workplace, to which the tools and methods covered are put into practice, with the program closing on a final presentation.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This UBC Okanagan Continuing Studies micro-credential targets professional learners able to drive change toward circularizing value chains within their organizations, including government bodies and supporting agencies, large for-profit companies, small and medium enterprises, industry associations and non-profits, and academics moving into entrepreneurship. No formal academic prerequisite, GPA, or English-language test score is published on the program page; eligibility detail beyond the stated audience is deferred to UBC Okanagan Continuing Studies' general Eligibility and Admissions guidance. Registration is by online sign-up rather than a competitive application.
Application Details
Start Date:October 2026
Application Deadline:Domestic and international undergraduate applicants both apply through EducationPlannerBC for Winter Session 2027/28 (September 2027 entry) and Summer 2027: applications open in early October 2026 and the equal-consideration deadline is 15 January 2027, 11:59 p.m. PST, the same date for both groups; a few programs keep reviewing late applications on a space-available basis afterwards. Earlier dates apply only to entrance-award consideration -- 15 November 2026 for the International Scholars Program and 1 December 2026 for Presidential/Centennial/Beyond Tomorrow scholars. Several limited-entry programmes -- Law, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing (advanced entry), Occupational/Physical Therapy, Social Work and Teacher Education -- set their own earlier deadlines from October 2026 through February 2027. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
