Overview
This four-year, 120-credit programme integrates mechanics, electronics, and computer science to prepare engineers for designing products and systems for Industry 4.0. Students choose among four specialization profiles: intelligent mechatronic systems, advanced numerical modelling and simulation, processes, and materials and structures mechanics. Instruction is split evenly between theory and hands-on practice, with projects in robotics, artificial-intelligence-based systems, and 3D modelling. A cooperative option offers up to three paid internships. The programme is accredited by Engineers Canada, allowing graduates direct admission to the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec as candidates for the profession (CPI). It is delivered on the Trois-Rivieres campus, full-time or part-time, with admission each fall and winter term, leading to a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Ing.).
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires a DEC in Techniques de genie mecanique, Sciences de la nature, or general studies with the required chemistry, mathematics, and physics courses, and a minimum cote R of 24 (files scoring 22 to 23.99 may be considered with additional coursework); up to 15 credits may be recognized for the mechanical engineering technology DEC. Applicants may also qualify with at least 21 completed university credits in a related field at a cumulative average of 2.5 on a 4.3 scale, or with five years of relevant work experience plus equivalent chemistry, mathematics, and physics knowledge. Applicants who completed secondary and pre-university studies outside Quebec need 13 years of science-based education, or 12 years plus one year of university study, with a minimum average of 12 out of 20 (10 to 11.99 may be considered with additional coursework). Applicants from outside Quebec must demonstrate a good command of French.
