PGDip in Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées en art

The Diplome d'etudes superieures specialisees (DESS) en art is a 30-credit graduate diploma offered by Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres. The programme focuses on research-creation, examining the relationship between theory and practice and between knowledge and technical skill in the visual and studio arts. It is intended for candidates who already hold an undergraduate degree in art or a related discipline and wish to deepen their creative and analytical practice at the graduate level, combining studio work with critical and theoretical study. The programme is offered both full-time and part-time, and admission is offered in the fall and winter terms. Alongside the standard academic admission route, UQTR also admits candidates without a first-cycle diploma through an experience-based route, provided they can demonstrate an established artistic practice. Reading comprehension of English is considered useful, though not a formal admission requirement.
