The Kinesiology program at the University of Calgary, leading to a Bachelor of Kinesiology or a Bachelor of Science with a kinesiology focus, covers the multidisciplinary study of human movement and function. Coursework includes human anatomy and physiology, motor control and learning, research methods, and statistical inquiry, addressing questions such as the effects of physical activity on aging, physiological responses to relaxation, and human adaptation to environmental stress. The program combines classroom instruction with supervised laboratory work and practicum placements that provide hands-on experience in professional settings, and offers study-abroad opportunities. It is based in the Faculty of Kinesiology on the university's Calgary campus. The program allows students to pursue specialized degree options aligned with their interests and career goals. It suits students interested in how the human body moves and functions, and prepares graduates for careers in coaching, recreation, and health and fitness, as well as research roles, or for further study in graduate school or professional programs such as law, medicine, veterinary medicine, or architecture.
