BA/BS in Exercise and Health Physiology

This undergraduate program leads to a Bachelor of Science (BSc) through the Faculty of Kinesiology. The program examines how athletes achieve optimal performance and how exercise helps prevent chronic disease, focusing on the effects of lifestyle, exercise, and diet on the human body at the molecular, cellular, and systemic levels. Required first-year courses include Activity, General Chemistry, Introduction to Research in Kinesiology, Introductory Calculus, and Human Anatomy and Physiology, with learning that combines classroom instruction with lab work using supervised techniques and tools. The program includes a practicum component providing hands-on, career-related experience in a professional setting, along with study-abroad opportunities for cultural and academic experiences. Graduates pursue roles in sport medicine and rehabilitation, recreation, and health and fitness, or move into research, and the degree can also serve as a stepping stone to graduate studies or professional programs such as law, medicine, veterinary medicine, or architecture.
