Molecular Biology is an Honours Bachelor of Science Specialist program at the University of Toronto Mississauga. It is an interdisciplinary field drawing on biochemistry, cell biology, and genetics, with coursework centred on the structure, chemistry, and function of nucleic acids and the biochemical basis of cellular genetics. Students build laboratory skills in molecular and cellular techniques alongside a foundation in general biology and chemistry, preparing for further study or careers such as cytotechnologist, bacteriologist, microbiologist, medical geneticist, or forensic laboratory analyst. Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six Grade 12 U/M-level courses, including English, Advanced Functions, Biology, and Chemistry, with Calculus & Vectors recommended; the co-op component of Grade 12 courses is not used for admission.
