Hons in Public Policy (HBA)

Public Policy at the University of Toronto is offered as an Honours Bachelor of Arts program at both the St. George and Scarborough campuses. At St. George, the Major is offered jointly by the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, the Department of Economics and the Department of Political Science, applying multidisciplinary tools from economics and political science to analyze policy problems; students may enrol after their first or second year, subject to prerequisite courses for second-year-and-higher coursework. At Scarborough, the Department of Political Science's Major equips students with analytical and methodological skills for policy-analyst work in government, business and non-governmental sectors, requiring 8.0 credits spanning a foundational social science course, economics for public policy, Canadian politics, fundamentals of public policy, statistics, methods and applications of public policy; a co-operative stream is also available. The Scarborough offering runs four years full-time, with Fall and Winter entry points.
