Program details

Overview

Rotman Commerce is an undergraduate business program at the University of Toronto, delivered on the St. George campus in partnership with the Rotman School of Management. Students work through core degree requirements alongside specialist and focus-area requirements that allow concentration within specific areas of business study. Professional skill development is built into the program through the Centre for Professional Skills, which works on collaborative, leadership, and communication abilities alongside academic coursework. Students can apply to the Professional Experience Year Internship Program, which places students in a work term as part of their studies, and can pursue Exchange and Summer Abroad opportunities at partner institutions. First-year students receive dedicated orientation and support distinct from the general first-year experience at the university. The program combines classroom business education with structured professional development, employer engagement, and an alumni network associated with the Rotman name. It suits students seeking an undergraduate business credential with defined pathways into specialized business fields and access to work-integrated learning and international exchange during their degree.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Ontario applicants to Rotman Commerce need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six 4U/M courses including English (ENG4U) and Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U), the latter given particular weight; the program recommends an overall Grade 11/12 average in the mid-to-high 80s, though admission is holistic and also weighs extracurricular leadership and communication ability. Every applicant, Ontario or otherwise, must complete the Rotman Commerce Supplemental Application (written and video responses), recommended by December 1; later submissions may not be considered until April or May. International and non-Ontario applicants apply through the University's general OUAC process, presenting the recognised secondary credential of their own system with the same English and Calculus prerequisites. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University's proficiency minimums (IELTS Academic 6.5, no band below 6.0; TOEFL iBT 89 overall with 22 in Speaking and Writing for tests before 21 January 2026).

Application Details

Application Deadline: Application deadline 15 January 2027 for domestic and international applicants; the Rotman Commerce supplementary application is due 1 February 2027.
