MA/MS in Physical Therapy (MScPT)

The Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) is a 24-month, entry-to-practice professional program in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, accredited by Physiotherapy Education Accreditation Canada. Delivered in person over six full-time sessions (Fall-Winter-Spring, repeated), the program combines advanced coursework in anatomy, physiology and clinical sciences with supervised clinical placements, preparing graduates to write the Physiotherapy Competency Examination and practice physiotherapy across Canada. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum mid-B average in the final year, along with prerequisite coursework in anatomy, physiology, life or physical sciences, social sciences or humanities, and statistics, each completed with a minimum grade of B-. Applicants apply through the Ontario Rehabilitation Sciences Programs Application Service (ORPAS). Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency, for example through the TOEFL iBT, with a minimum overall score of 5.0 out of 6.0. The Department of Physical Therapy does not currently consider applications from international students. The credential awarded is a Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT).
