Chemistry

The programme lets students build a personalised course of study while developing strong foundational chemistry knowledge, drawing on branches such as physical, theoretical/computational, inorganic, atmospheric, materials, biophysical and organic chemistry. Course content and research opportunities are reviewed to reflect the needs of the public sector, research institutions, and business and industry, and to contribute to solving societal challenges. Because all lecturers are active researchers, teaching is shaped by current work at the university, and students take part in fundamental research projects within the department's research groups, with some gaining the chance to collaborate with public institutions or private companies as part of their studies.
