Electronic Composition

Rooted in the Danish Institute of Electronic Music (DIEM), founded in 1986, the programme builds from the outset on each student's own compositions, developing compositional and technical ability through wide-ranging coursework and project work that shapes later study and career choices. It also addresses the communication of music, in both practice and theory, with visiting guest teachers and international artists contributing concerts and workshops. At master's level, students specialise as an electronic musician or composer within an artistic, research-based environment, developing the ability to run musical projects and tuition independently, while crossing paths with the Academy's classical and jazz/pop/global music students. The master's includes Entrepreneurial Studies and concludes with a master's project; admission requires a bachelor's degree.
