Overview
The professional bachelor in biomedical laboratory analysis trains students to carry out laboratory analyses of samples such as blood, cells, tissue, DNA and bacteria, which support doctors in diagnosing patients. The programme alternates between theory tested in the campus laboratory and clinical practice periods. Students spend five to seven periods in clinical placements across the programme.
The programme runs for 3½ years and totals 210 ECTS points. Students are guaranteed a practice placement throughout the programme in the laboratory medicine departments of hospitals in Region Zealand. The course covers the different types of analyses, the theory behind them, and how analysis results relate to disease development and normal bodily function.
