Strategic Design and Technology is a joint master's curriculum of the Estonian Academy of Arts and Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) for people who want to link design, technology and business and lead deliberate change inside organisations. It examines how technical and engineering solutions can become customer-focused, sustainable and economically effective products and services, and it gives students tools for using design as a means of strategic thinking and management, with value creation for users, companies and society at the centre.
Study lasts one and a half years and is organised as sessions, with contact teaching from Thursday to Saturday every second week so that it can be combined with work. The core of the programme is project-based design studios in which students work in small interdisciplinary teams on real challenges from companies and organisations.
The Estonian-language curriculum develops the earlier international EKA and TalTech joint programme Design and Technology Futures and focuses on Estonian society and economy.
