Biomedical Informatics, Biomedical Technology, Master of Science (2 yrs)

Biomedical technology combines an understanding of biological systems at the molecular level with methods from computational and data science, statistics, genetics, medicine, chemistry and biology, offered through three options: Biomedical Informatics, Cell Technology, and Molecular Biology. The Biomedical Informatics option addresses how developing measurement technologies and growing computing power are shifting biosciences toward health data science, building expertise in computational methods, including artificial intelligence tools, together with the regulatory requirements of data science and health informatics. Entry requires a background in either computational or biological sciences, such as genetics, biochemistry, or molecular or cell biology, with an interest in developing computational skills, or a computational background paired with an interest in biomedical principles, and study groups are kept small.
