This Embedded Systems master's programme is delivered through the EIT Digital Master School, where the University of Turku is one of 18 technical European universities offering seven master's degrees aimed at training future digital innovators and entrepreneurs. Every track in the school follows an identical structure: a first year at an entry university and a second year at an exit university, both EIT Digital hubs. The opening year covers shared foundational courses for the chosen technical track plus an introduction to business and management; its second semester pairs a design project with business development exercises, including how to prepare and present a business plan. Year two adds a specialisation and a graduation project that includes a company or research-institute internship, culminating in a master's thesis with a strong focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. Both universities award a degree alongside a certificate from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, and the University of Turku can be taken as either the entry or exit institution. Embedded systems, now woven into daily life, appear in mobile phones, household appliances, robotic manufacturing lines, aircraft, satellites, healthcare equipment and even elevators.
