We study ecologically, economically, culturally and socially sustainable design, environmental, community and winter art, and media and visual arts. In our research, we emphasize pluralistic and multicultural art and design in the northern regions. In addition, we develop various creative solutions in art and design for the needs of northern services. A lively dialogue between science and art adds to our research: Science and art are combined, for example, in the development of design and media, as well as in the construction of new methods for community art education. Many of our dissertations also include an artistic section, such as an exhibition or product development project, alongside scientific research.
