Epidemiology and Biomedical Data Science, Master of Health Sciences (2 years)

This international master's degree programme focuses on epidemiological methods and principles and biomedical data science methods. The programme is entirely taught in English using contact teaching and blended teaching methods. The extent of the master's degree programme is 120 ECTS credits. Studies consist of compulsory advanced studies, master's thesis (40 ECTS credits), language studies, and optional studies according to a personal study plan (PSP).The programme curriculum is research-based and as such is strongly connected to one of the main research profiles of University of Oulu: understanding the environmental and molecular determinants of human health and well-being. The programme offers a strong foundation for understanding key concepts in designing and implementing epidemiological studies and biomedical data analytic approaches. Practical teaching sessions and master’s thesis will utilize some of the largest longitudinal cohorts in Europe.
