Overview

The doctorate in Design is open through the Humanities doctoral school in its traditional specialisms, such as environmental design and object design, and in social and service design. These doctorates continue the master programmes of Université Bordeaux Montaigne taught at the Humanities faculty and the faculty of territories and communication sciences. The school stresses interdisciplinarity and creative dialogue between design and fields such as arts, information and communication sciences, architecture, semiotics and philosophy. The aim is to address emerging questions and to study recent societal transformations. The doctorate runs over three years.

Admission Requirements: Entry by exception for holders of a master's degree or equivalent foreign qualification; entry level Bac+5.
