Master of Science in Computer Science

The one-year international track of the Master of Science in Computer Science prepares students to become decision and data scientists. Students gain broad theoretical and computational skills across the mathematical and computational sciences, and expertise in advanced techniques for decision and data science. The core covers optimisation fundamentals, algorithms and complexity, machine learning with data mining, and a seminar series, followed by a 9-ECTS master's thesis at the LIMOS research laboratory. Students then choose either decision science, with courses on combinatorial optimisation, approximation algorithms, decision under uncertainty, graphs and advanced optimisation, or data science, with courses on high-performance computing, advanced learning methods, knowledge representation, mobile networks and information system security. Courses carry 3 ECTS each. Merit-based scholarships are available, with a preference for students planning a PhD.
