Program details

Overview

The canonical Master in Philosophy at UCLy's Faculty of Philosophy trains students to research philosophy without restricting them to one field, so the choice of topic is open. The programme is deliberately lean, with a limited number of courses and seminars, so most of the effort goes into a dissertation completed at the end of the second year. The first year combines five philosophy courses (20 ECTS) with three seminars (18 ECTS) and a language course. Part of the programme can be followed remotely. A double degree with the University of Perugia (Italy) is possible through a validated fourth semester.

Requirements

Interview: Required
Admission Requirements: Canonical baccalaureat in philosophy or an equivalent diploma. Holders with an average of 13 or more can enter the canonical licence directly; those with 10 to 13 must pass an oral synthesis first.
