Program details

Overview

The Catechist-Pastoral Worker BA is a three-year, six-semester course leading to a state-recognised higher-education degree and a church-based professional qualification. It prepares students for parish support roles such as visiting the sick, assisting with communion and handling administrative tasks. The catechist specialisation adds pedagogy, psychology and teaching practice to the core theology subjects, preparing students to teach religion. Graduates can continue to the college's MA programmes, such as Religious Education Teacher or Pastoral Counselling and Organisational Development. The programme can be taken full-time or part-time.
