Overview

The Master of Community Development is a two-year evening programme from the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Saint Joseph. Classes are in English on the Ilha Verde Campus in Macao. The course prepares leaders to nurture people and the relationships that support socially sustainable communities. It looks at how local resources are identified, shared and used, including residents, formal and informal groups, leadership structures and economic conditions, and at how these can be mobilised to lift a community's development. Students study the main theoretical and practical approaches to community development. They practise analysing and planning for infrastructure, the environment and the place of social groups, and they learn to approach decisions in a systematic and strategic way. Study is full-time in status and held in the evening.
