Bachelor of Counseling

The Bachelor of Counseling builds mental-health support skills through counseling theory, ethical practice and supervised training, aiming to produce graduates ready for roles that range from counselor to wellbeing advocate or support specialist. Across three years the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences runs modules such as approaches to counseling and counseling skills and planning in the early years, moving into art therapy and family and systems theory by year three. The course runs face-to-face for 36 months at MNQF Level 7, carrying 360 credits. The total fee is MVR 96,400, paid monthly at MVR 2,200 in year one and MVR 2,800 in years two and three. Entry requires completed higher secondary education, a related Level 4 qualification, or an approved Level 4 foundation program, with a preparation-program alternative for unrelated Level 4 holders or 20-year-olds with two years of relevant experience.
