This two-year, four-semester advanced diploma runs in the evening at the Male' campus and is built to raise English-language proficiency, deepen students' linguistic understanding and develop an appreciation of English literary tradition. Alongside core language study, it introduces mass communication, strengthening students' oral and written communication so they can work confidently in professional and academic settings.
Admission is open to applicants with two passes at GCE A Level or HSC and certified proficiency in English, shown through O Level or IGCSE English or a written test, or a related Level 4 qualification, or completion of the university's Certificate 4 Foundation Studies programme. Candidates without these routes may still qualify through an approved university preparation programme, either after an unrelated Level 4 qualification or, from age 20, after finishing secondary school and two years of relevant work experience.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: General entry needs two passes at GCE A Level or HSC plus certified English proficiency, shown through O Level or IGCSE English or a written test. A related Level 4 qualification, or MNU's Certificate 4 Foundation Studies programme, also qualifies. An unrelated Level 4 qualification can be paired with an MQA-approved University Preparation Programme, or applicants aged 20 or over with two years of relevant work experience can complete the same preparation programme.
