Overview

The Bachelor in Theatre (Honours) gives students a broad grounding in the practices, histories and theories of theatre and performance. Delivered by the School of Performing Arts, it covers staging skills such as lighting, sound, stage design, scenography and prop and costume making, together with risk assessment and health and safety awareness, taught through a mix of classroom and studio-based study-units using seminars, workshops, screenings and lectures delivered across the three years. The honours degree runs full-time over three years for 180 ECTS credits. Study-units are taught to international standards, reflected in staff qualifications and in academic auditing by international professionals, and alumni have gone on to work at universities in Malta and abroad, among other theatre-related roles in production, education and the performing arts sector more broadly.
