Overview

The relationship between creative media production and running a media business sits at the heart of this postgraduate course, which gives learners room to develop their own idea for a creative media enterprise and take it from concept toward reality. Students work within a creative-media field of their choosing while building a theoretical grounding in how the creative and cultural industries actually operate, including the policy goals behind cultural strategy, intellectual-property questions and the practical steps needed to launch and run a creative media start-up, whether brand new or already under way. The course runs over three semesters at MQF Level 7 for 90 credits, with fees confirmed separately through MCAST's industry gateway. Entry follows from MCAST's own honours Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media Production — alternatively a first degree of comparable standing (at least 180 ECTS, MQF Level 6) directly tied to the field — followed by a suitability interview.

Requirements

Interview: Required
Admission Requirements: Internal progression from an MCAST Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Media Production, or an equivalent first degree of at least 180 ECTS at MQF Level 6 directly related to Creative Media Production, plus a Master's Programme Suitability Interview.
