MA/MS in MEDICINA (2019)

This integrated academic programme in medicine is offered at the University of Montenegro and leads to the qualification of doctor of medicine. The learning outcomes published for the programme are organised by area of competence rather than by course. Clinical skills include taking a patient's history, performing a complete examination and drawing up a plan of further action. Graduates are expected to carry out practical procedures such as measuring clinical parameters, preparing and giving therapy, adult and paediatric resuscitation, wound care and immobilisation, taking samples, venous access, and placing tubes and catheters. They plan laboratory, radiological and clinical investigations, interpret the findings and diagnose using a holistic approach, then set a basic treatment plan for all categories of patients, including emergency, chronic, surgical, trauma, palliative and paediatric cases. Further competences cover health promotion and disease prevention, communication with patients, families and colleagues, teamwork, and keeping medical records on paper and electronically.
