This specialist programme in mechanical engineering at the University of Montenegro is a one-year course of academic postgraduate specialist studies. It corresponds to the fourth year of study within the mechanical engineering programme, and its volume is 60 ECTS credits. On completion, graduates receive a diploma of academic specialist studies in mechanical engineering. The diploma supplement describes the particular area the student followed, and three possible areas are named: energy engineering, production engineering, and applied mechanics and design. The specialist studies can also be treated as the first year of postgraduate master studies, so a student who wants to continue their education can carry on from this point. The programme is academic in type and is listed as state-funded. Because it forms the fourth year of the mechanical engineering line, it suits students who want to deepen their knowledge before deciding whether to continue to master level.
