Molecular Mechanisms of Disease examines the molecular processes underlying health and disease that form the basis for new therapies for cancer and for metabolic and immunological disorders. All teaching staff belong to the Radboud University Medical Center, where investigations centre on the molecular underpinnings of disease-related processes, translated directly into clinical application, and faculty teach courses tied to their own research. The two-year programme includes two research internships, the first at Radboudumc and the second often abroad through the medical center's international research network, alongside courses in presentation and communication skills. Students are selected based on past performance, a personal interview and the ability to work in a team, and each is assigned a Radboudumc researcher as a personal tutor; the programme begins each September 1st, with individual adjustments possible.
