MA/MS in Ecology and Evolution

This programme trains students to study how organisms interact with their surroundings, spanning topics from genes to ecosystems, with the option to focus on fundamental questions or apply findings to biodiversity loss and sustainability. The Groningen Institute for Evolutionary Life Sciences delivers the programme, covering areas such as conservation ecology, behavioural ecology, chronobiology, evolutionary genetics and marine biology. Students learn techniques including GPS tracking, genome-wide sequencing, remote sensing and individual-based simulations, and carry out independent research as part of the programme.
