Program details

Overview

The advanced master's programme builds a thorough understanding of the law governing international relations within an increasingly complex global society, covering a wide range of relevant aspects in depth while giving students the chance to specialise within the field. Seminars and workshops push students to work out their own position on what public international law does and how it operates. Students choose between two specialisations, International Criminal Law (Advanced) and Peace, Justice and Development (Advanced). Taught across Leiden and The Hague, the programme draws on expertise available at international institutions based in The Hague, among them the Organisation responsible for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the International Criminal Court, the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia, and the International Court of Justice.
