MA/MS in Education and Child Studies (research)

This two-year research master builds strong research capabilities specific to the study of children and education, acting as a springboard into either academic work or professional practice. Graduates can design, run and assess applied scientific research themselves and connect clinical practice with science, with the programme structured as preparatory training for a PhD position. There is also an option to specialise in social work and youth care, addressing the need for academics able to assess and treat children and families facing psychological difficulties using evidence-based clinical methods. As a small-scale programme, each student is assigned a supervising professor and a day-to-day mentor at the outset, and while writing the thesis contributes to one of the department's research programmes under their close guidance.
