BA/BS in Teacher Education in Geography

Geography teacher education covers climate, migration, politics and culture, and helps students teach pupils to see, discover and understand their environment. Students study geographic themes such as settlements, landscapes and population geography, with fieldwork and day excursions in the first year. Placements grow from supervised teaching in year one to complete lessons from year two, and foreign excursions follow in later years. The four-year hbo bachelor leads to a teaching qualification in geography. At the end of the first year students must answer whether they are suited to teaching, using their placement experience. The programme includes a study trip to Berlin.
