— it helps other students.
The master's programme in ageing and geriatric health work is a part-time residential study that runs over three years and gives 120 credits. It develops specialised knowledge of ageing and advanced skills in prevention, treatment, care and rehabilitation for older people with illness or reduced function.
Students analyse their own professional tradition, learn to plan and evaluate interventions, and explore the use of welfare technology and the involvement of users and volunteers in care. The programme gives basic research competence and opens the way to doctoral study. Teaching is held in Tromso, and a study group in Narvik has been set up for subject-specific courses.
