Master i barnevern og barnevernsarbeid

The two-year master in child welfare and child welfare work at VID is a 120 ECTS programme with two study tracks. It combines theory, practice and research, and is taught in weekly intensive sessions with independent work between them. Students choose electives totalling 10 ECTS and complete four weeks of practice, which can be taken together or spread across the semester. The award is a master degree in child welfare, taught in Norwegian. It prepares graduates for leading roles and further study within child welfare and related services. Eligibility differs by track: a child welfare bachelor for one, and a completed three-year social or related education for the other.
